JOEL ‘BUBBY’ EMANUEL JR.

Joel “Bubby” Emanuel Jr. died Friday, Feb. 10. 2010 at St. Joseph East Hospital in Lexington.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, Feb. 16 at 10 a.m. at Corinthian Baptist Church.

Visitation will be this evening from 5 to 8 at the church.

Burial will be at Camp Nelson Cemetery, Nicholasville.

Chenault Brothers Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.

FRANCES GILBERT GREENE

Frances Gilbert Greene, 91, of Hamersville, Ohio, formerly of Winchester, passed away on Thursday in Amelia, Ohio.

Ms. Greene was born in Winchester on Jan. 25, 1919 to the late Garret and Dell Gilbert Green.

She was retired from The Winchester Sun and attended First Baptist Church.

Survivors include a cousin, Gilbert (Joyce) McKee of Hamersville, Ohio.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Wednesday at Scobee Funeral Home by Dr. Ed Mesta, and burial will be in the Winchester Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time.

STEVEN WAYNE GUYOT

Steven Wayne Guyot, 58, of Clark County, formerly of Detroit, Mich., passed away on Sunday at the Clark Regional Medical Center.

DR. COLEMAN JEFFERSON MOFFETT

Dr. Coleman Jefferson Moffett, 91, husband of Marian Blalock Moffett died Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010.

Born in Winchester, he was the son of the late Judge Coleman Sharp and Louise Jefferson Moffett.

He was a graduate of what was the Winchester City High School, Transylvania University and Temple University School of Dentistry in Philadelphia, Pa.

After practicing dentistry in Rochester, N.Y., and instructing in oral surgery and prosthetic dentistry at the University of Louisville Dental School, he joined the U.S. Army Dental Corps and attained the rank of lieutenant colonel.

He served in various assignments in Germany, Fort Riley, Kan. and Fort Hood, Texas, and was executive officer of the U.S. Army Dental Detachment in both Korea and Fort Knox.

He retired at Fort Campbell in 1966 after more than 20 years of active service.

Dr. Moffett was a member of Central Christian Church.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a stepson, William David Isley, of Conyers, Ga.; stepgrandsons, William David Isley Jr. of Florence and Timothy Douglas Isley of San Diego, Calif.; a nephew, Coleman Scott Moffett of Glen, N.H.; and niece, Windy Moffett Graham, Federal Way, Wash.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Scott Moffett, and sister, Martha Joan Moffett.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, Feb. 16, at 11:30 a.m. at Milward-Southland in Lexington, with burial at Lexington Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today.

OLIVER T. BARNETT

Oliver T. Barnett, 93, widower of Bernice Snowden Barnett and Dora Clem Barnett, passed away at 11:03 a.m. Sunday at his home.

A native of Fayette County, he was the son of the late Clint and Anna Lee Clark Barnett. Mr. Barnett was a retired farm laborer, an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and a member of the Trinity Church of God.

Survivors include a son Thomas Ray (Tillie) Barnett of Winchester; two granddaughters, Dora (Chuck) Hall and Julie (Dennis) Briscoe of Winchester; three great-grandchildren, Noah Hall and Carter and Luke Briscoe; a brother, Clinton Barnett Jr. of Highland Heights; a sister-in-law, Geneva Clem of Winchester; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Scobee Funeral Home by the Rev. Billy Keller.

Burial will follow in the Winchester Cemetery.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. Wednesday.

EVELYN WOOD

Evelyn Wood, 73, of Winchester, passed away Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010, at Fountain Circle.
