GTE/Sylvania/Osram retirees meet March 9

Winchester GTE/Sylvania/Osram/UAW retirees will meet at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 9, at the Union Hall on Bloomfield Road.

Following the meeting, members and guests will meet for lunch at the Garden Girls’ Cafe in Al’s Garden Center on Lexington Road.

Chemical weapons groups meet March 9

The Kentucky Chemical Demilitarization Citizens Advisory Commission and the Chemical Destruction Community Advisory Board will meet on Tuesday, March 9, at 1:30 p.m. in Rooms A & B on the lobby level at Eastern Kentucky University’s Carl D. Perkins Building, located on Kit Carson Drive in Richmond.

The meeting is open to the public and is accessible to individuals with disabilities.

The two groups deal with issues concerning the Army’s stockpile of chemical munitions at the Blue Grass Army Depot. For more information, contact the Blue Grass Chemical Stockpile Outreach Office at (859) 626-8944 or bgoutreach@bah.com.

BCTC director speaks at Rotary Club Friday

The Winchester Rotary Club will meet at the Winchester Country Club at noon Friday, March 5.

Karen Haley is program chairwoman. She will introduce Bruce Manley, campus director of the local Bluegrass Community College campus.
