Police and fire reports for March 5

WINCHESTER POLICE

Charged

— Emily A. Riggins, 26, of 61 Holiday Road, was charged Thursday with second-degree forgery.

CLARK COUNTY SHERIFF

Reports

— At 1 p.m. Thursday, Kentucky Utilities employees reported that someone entered a substation on Rockwell Road, took copper wiring and damaged the site.

Accidents

— At 3:58 p.m. Thursday, deputies responded to an injury accident on Ecton Road. Leeann E. Lykins of 155 Magnolia St. was traveling north and attempted to cross the road and did not yield to an oncoming vehicle driven by James C. Caudill of 216 Jackson St. Lykins was transported to Clark Regional Medical Center with unspecified injuries.

— At 4:38 p.m. Thursday, deputies responded to a fatal accident on Rockwell Road in which Kenneth H. Carmichael of 312 Potomac Drive was traveling east when he lost control due to a medical condition. His van struck a guardrail and traveled another 75 yards before coming to rest. Carmichael was alone in his vehicle and no other vehicles were involved.

WINCHESTER FIRE-EMS

— On Thursday, emergency personnel conducted one local transfer and three out-of-town transfers. They also responded to two general medical calls, one stroke, one motor vehicle accident, one fall, one respiratory case and one engine assist.

CLARK COUNTY FIRE

— At 9:54 a.m. Thursday, firefighters were called to 6675 Old Boonesboro Road for a possible structure fire. The fire was out when firefighters arrived.

— At 3:58 p.m. Thursday, firefighters responded to an injury accident on Ecton Road.

— At 4:40 p.m. Thursday, firefighters were called to an injury accident on Rockwell Road near Clintonville Road.

— At 6:51 a.m. today, firefighters were called to 320 Primrose Lane for a chimney fire. The fire was extinguished.
