Local artist June L. Weber will have a painting on display at the Peoples Commercial Bank. Ms. Weber graduated from the Stephens College, Columbia, Mo., and also has studied art at the Academy of Art in Chicago, and at the University of Kentucky. She worked as a designer in Chicago and Cincinnati, and has exhibited her work in other cities, including Lexington and Newark, Del. She is a member of the Winchester Art Guild and the Brush Palette of Lexington.
Lifeline, a hospital-based personal emergency response program designed for elderly and disabled people, was explained at Wednesday’s luncheon meeting of the Winchester Kiwanis Club.
Lexington officials have remarked that the Final Four basketball tournament March 30-April 1 will be an economic bonanza, not only for Lexington, but for all of central Kentucky. More than 23,000 people will pack Rupp Arena for the semi-finals March and the championship game April 1.
