Regis Pelphrey

Regis Pelphrey, 85, husband of 59 years to Jo Ann, departed this earth for heaven on September 4, 2016.

He was born on September 17, 1930, in Ashland, Kentucky, to the late Vol and Lenora Williams Pelphrey.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by one son, Steven (Elizabeth) Pelphrey, and two grandsons Kyle (Elizabeth) and Chad Pelphrey.

He was preceded in death by one grandson, Derek Pelphrey.

He lived a full and enjoyable life. He served in the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War (1952-1954). He was retired from Armco Steel, where he served as a general foreman over the riggers, tin, paint and carpentry shops. He made several volunteer trips to Brazil, building a church and an orphanage there. He also worked in many local civic situations, as he was needed. In addition to his missionary work, he was a pilot, an inventor who held a US patent, an avid team roper, a farmer, a homebuilder and served as Potentate for the Shriners Winchester Chapter. He was a member of the Central Baptist Church.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 8, 2016 from 10: 00 AM – 11:00AM at Scobee Funeral Home. Funeral Services, officiated by Dr. Travis Drake, will be held immediately thereafter. Committal services will be at 2:30 PM in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Ashland, Kentucky.
