Susan Fox Shearer, 73, passed away at her home on her birthday, September 15.

She was the 2nd daughter of Mary Eleanor “Bebe” Fox and the late Eldon Fox. She was a graduate of George Rogers Clark.

She is survived by her husband, David Shearer; her two step-children, Mary (Tony) Burgess and Andrea Clemons, two step-grandchildren, Toni Marie (Andrew) Puckett and Jayne Burgess; a great-grandson Addyn Burgess; sister Eleanor (Tom) Kelly, a brother BGen Charles “Sunny” Eldon (Sharon) Fox, Jr. Susan had seven nieces and nephews, 17 great nieces and nephews, and a great-great niece and nephew. She also had seven first cousins.

Susan genuinely cared about people, especially those who were hurting and disadvantaged. She believed that faith in God was the key to the meaning of life. The family is especially grateful for her cousin Candace Fox Quisenberry, who was a faithful caregiver.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 26th at 11am followed by a memorial service at 12 noon at the Rolan G. Taylor Funeral Home, 289 S .Main St.
