The Kentucky Chamber of Commerce has named Winchester a Kentucky Certified City. This is the 10th consecutive year the city has received the designation.

Four Clark County students at Eastern Kentucky University are doing student teaching this fall. They are: Jennifer Ballard, Stratton Lane, Hannah McClure School; Machelle Baxter, Stratton Lane, Model Labratory, Richmond; Rosemary Campbell, Hillcrest Drive, Hannah McClure and Fannie Bush schools, and Stephanie Thorpe, Wayland Drive, Fannie Bush.

Jeana D. Arnold, Ruckerville Road, daughter of Gene and Nicie Arnold, enlisted recently in the U.S. Army Training Program and report for basic training Dec. 9. A May graduate of George Rogers Clark High School, she will receive basic and advanced individual training as a administrative specialist at Fort Jackson, S.C. She will be assigned to the 100th Training Division, Headquarters Detachment, Lexington.
