Police investigating Thursday night clown attack

Winchester Police are investigating an incident when a man in a clown mask allegedly tried to grab a woman Thursday night at a walking trail.

The incident was reported at 7:50 p.m. Thursday by a woman walking at the Winchester Traveling Trail. According to police documents, she said a clown was in the bushes near the barn. The person, she said, grabbed her and tried to drag her into the bushes. She escaped after hitting him in the face several times and she ran away.

Winchester Police Capt. Harvey Craycraft said officers saturated the area around the trail after receiving the call but could not find the suspect.

The suspect was wearing a clown mask, a ripped T-shirt and jeans.
