Helen R. Barnett, 89, wife of James L. Barnett for 69 years, passed away Sunday, October 2, 2016, at Fountain Circle.

She was born in Menifee County KY on October 12, 1926, to the late George Reffitt and Minnie Stone Reffitt. She retired from HR Soil Conservation Service in Lexington after 23 years. She was also a member of First Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband; one son, Donald (Cynthia Lee) Barnett; one daughter, Pamela Brinson; six grandchildren, Cindy “Punkin” Barnett, Chris Barnett, Rebecca (David) Turner, Matthew (Heather) Brinson, Jessica Brinson, Hannah Brinson; one great grandchild, Mycah Brinson; one sister, Anna “Jo” Dumford; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and four brothers.

Services will be Wednesday, October 5, 2016, at 1:00PM at Scobee Funeral Home by Rev. Don Barnett. Burial will be in Winchester Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Chris Barnett, Ronnie Sanders, Bill Pumphrey, Larry Curtis.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 5, 2016, from 11:00AM to 1:00PM at Scobee Funeral Home.
