EMILY JEAN SMITH

Emily Jean Smith, 79, Winchester, entered into eternity on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at her residence with her loving family by her side.

She was born November 2, 1936, in Casey County, KY. to the late Thurman Lee Lay and Pearl Mae Woodrum Lay. Emily retired from the Clark County Board of Education after 25 faithful years of service. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church. She was the wife of the late Bruce Smith.

Survivors include her daughter, Cheryl Buskirk (Steven); grandson, Travis M. Buskirk (Amanda); granddaughter, Stephanie A. Jackson (Nathan); special great granddaughter Starling River Nelson; sister, Linda L. Stinson; she also leaves behind several dear nephews, nieces and cousins.

The family would like to thank Deloris Huff and Angela Morris for being her special caregivers for their dedication to the care of Emily.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00PM on Tuesday, October 11, 2016, at Scobee Funeral Home with Rev. Pat Finley officiating. Burial will follow at Clarmont Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be Monday, October 10, 2016 from 6:00PM-8:00PM at Scobee Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers are to Hospice East 407 Shoppers Drive.

THOMAS AUGUST KOHNLE

Thomas August Kohnle, 86, of Winchester, husband for 60 years to Gail Sudhoff Kohnle, went to be with our Lord on Thursday, October 6, 2016.

He was born July 12, 1930, in Richmond, Indiana, to the late Bernard William and Harriett Thomas Kohnle. In addition to his wife, he is survived by their three children, Jeff (Julie) Kohnle, Karen (Stuart) Winburn and Janis (John) Allen; grandchildren include Zack Allen, Andrew Allen and Justin Allen. Tom is also survived by his sister, Dorothy DeGuira of Cambridge City, Indiana and was preceded in death by his sister Bernice Mae McNally. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.

Tom was a charter member and was still active at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Lexington, KY. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving from 1948 – 1952 active duty in Germany. He retired from Delta Natural Gas after 35 years of working as Vice President Controller. He also enjoyed playing golf.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, Oct 11, at 11am at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2255 Eastland Pkwy, Lexington with Rev. Michael Huebner presiding. The family will receive friends on Monday, Oct 10th, from 5p-7p at the Rolan G. Taylor Funeral Home, 289 S. Main St.

Graveside services will be Wednesday at 2pm in the Earlham Cemetery in Richmond, Indiana.

LEDFORD S. REED

Ledford S. Reed, 73, Winchester, died Thursday.

A celebration of life will be held from 4-6PM Sunday, Oct. 9 at Scobee Funeral Home.
