Clark County Farm Bureau elected officers and presented awards over dinner while celebrating 71 years with its annual meeting Thursday evening.

Eddie Melton, first vice president of Kentucky Farm Bureau, was guest speaker.

Attendees also heard two-minute speeches from students competing in the CCFB Outstanding Youth contest: Austin Clark, Langdon Winburn, Alison Fink and Marcus Wiseman.

Competitors submitted an application, completed an interview prior to the meeting and were judged on their speeches during the meeting. Winburn and Wiseman were the overall winners and will go on to compete in the district competition Sunday.

Three students participated in the talent competition: Austin Clark, percussion performance; Langdon Winburn, vocal performance; and Chasity Rowland, clogging. Rowland won the competition.

Taylor and Michelle Cooper, along with their children Trevor and Trinity, were awarded the 2016 Young Farmer Family award.

The 2016 Friend of Farm Bureau Award was presented to Clark County Judge-Executive Henry Branham.
