Lelia Carter, 87, of Winchester, widow of William Doris Carter, passed awayThursday at the Fountain Circle Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. A native of Richmond, KY, she was born June 29, 1929, to the late Luther and Laura Hendricks Whittamore. She was a telephone operator for AT&T and member of the Allansville Baptist Church. She is survived by 3 stepsons; Mark (Lori) Carter, Jon Carter and Chris Carter, sister-in-law, Ann Bush Carter of Winchester, 5 grandchildren, special cousin and dear friend, Ann McBride, special friends, Carissa Skinner and Denisa Harding, her loving cat, Fluffy and several cousins. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 17, from 10:30am until 1:30pm at the Rolan G. Taylor Funeral Home, 289 S. Main Street Winchester. Graveside services will follow in the Richmond Cemetery at 2:30pm with Dr. Ed Mesta and Rev. Ray Coates presiding.
