Clark County Community Education is accepting reservations through Nov. 4 for a college to career fair in the George Rogers Clark High School Gymnasium Nov. 18.

The fair will last from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., with participants receiving a free lunch. It is being sponsored by Community Education as well as the Winchester-Clark County Chamber of Commerce and George Rogers Clark High School Youth Services Center.

Community Education Director Cora Heffner said the college and career fair offers good opportunities for local businesses.

“The College and Career Fair is a wonderful free opportunity for businesses and industries to provide information on career paths available locally for our high school students, and even take applications for part time positions,” Heffner said. “Our students will have questions about employment opportunities now and in the future, promotion opportunities, education requirements, and the general workforce environment.”

More than 30 businesses attended last year’s fair including Winchester Municipal Utilities, the Kentucky Department of Education, Clark Regional Medical Center, Southern States Cooperative, Catalent and the Kentucky National Guard.

Heffner said she expects many of the organizations present last year to be in attendance in November as well.

Reservation forms are available at the Community Education office, 24 W. Lexington Ave. Suite 220 or by emailing clark.comm.ed@gmail.com.
