Patricia “Pat” Burns Brown, 81,

Patricia “Pat” Burns Brown, 81, of Winchester, widow of Eugene “Gene” Brown, passed away October 26.

A native of Marlinton, West Virginia, she was born May 8, 1935, to the late Ralph H. and Myrhl Burns. Pat was the director of nursing for 15 years at Clark Regional Medical Center, she taught nursing at Eastern Kentucky University for 10 years, she was retired from the Veteran’s Administration Medical Center on Leestown Road; Pat had taught nursing in 4 states and instructed the water aerobics class for many years at the College Park gym.

She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Ray E. (Brenda) Brown of Winchester; brother, Richard Burns of Hillsboro, W. Va.; grandchildren, Whitney Brown and Shane Smith; and two great-grandchildren, Alec and Kyndal Kirkbride.

She was preceded in death by one son, Jeff Brown.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 1, from 5p-7p at the Rolan G. Taylor Funeral Home, 289 S. Main Street, Winchester. Burial will be in the McNeel Cemetery in Hillsboro, West Va.
