I want to encourage everyone in District 2 to vote for Scott Hisle for school board. Scott has a strong business background. He can use his business experience to promote new ideas that can improve the Clark County school system. He will work hard to ensure fair taxes, increase teacher pay, promote safe schools and to seek additional funding for the fine arts and extracurricular activities.

I would like the residents of school board District 2 to please vote for my friend, Scott Hisle. Scott is the ideal candidate because he explores all options before making decisions. He takes into account the impact these decisions will have on the group or business. He will tell you how these decisions will affect your group or business whether it’s good or bad. His business background will bring a new and refreshing approach to the school board meetings. His years of experience working with our community shows that he cares about Winchester and the residents of our town.

Bond should get write-in vote

I strongly urge  all voters in Madison and Clark counties to get to the polls and write in Bond for family court judge. Elizabeth  is the best candidate for Madison and Clark County family court judge. She has tirelessly worked to help my family and I over the last several years.

I was going through a very difficult time following my divorce and needed help for me and my children. She took the time to get to know the facts of my case and did an excellent job advocating for my family to get the relief that we needed. She was not afraid to stand up for my rights and those of my children when things seemed hopeless.

She is compassionate, caring and committed to helping the families and children of Clark and Madison counties. Anyone that knows her knows that she has been the voice for thousands of children in our communities and will continue to serve their best interests with full integrity and her whole heart if elected. There is no other candidate that could compare to her.

Hendricks a hard worker

John M. Hendricks is the right choice for state representative. I have had the chance to know John and his family for the past 30 years. John’s parents raised John with the kind of values that we need to see more of in Frankfort. Wilson has experience

As someone who has lived in this community for over 50 years, I have seen first hand our facilities fall further and further behind with surrounding school systems. I appreciate all of the folks who thought it was in the best interest to not raise taxes but as we continued down this path we continued to fall even further behind.

Everyone I speak with always complains about our leaders not having a large enough vision. I too agree. Once the dust settled from the consolidation and the opening of the new GRCHS, our scores continue to rise with several schools reaching a distinguished rating. For the first time in a very long time, I see momentum building with the opportunity for some really special things happening in our school system.

A budget surplus along with the approval of the new athletic complex should instill even more pride in our community and give every child in Clark County the tools to succeed. We have never had an athletic complex and any study would indicate the importance of extra-curricular activities.

Phillip Todd Wilson was appointed to the board of education by the State Department of Education. They must have seen the same qualities in him that I have known for about 40 years. He has been a coach, teacher, athletic director, administrator and principal for the past 23 years. He has the courage to make tough decisions such as voting for pay raises of 4 and 3 percent to certified and classified staff as well as the 4 percent tax increase. The vote for the tax increase was already 3-0 when he too voted yes, knowing any opponent would use that against him. He has a larger vision than some of those who served before him. Please consider voting for my good friend Phillip Todd Wilson District 2 of the board of education.

I’d like to urge the voters of the second district to vote for Scott Hisle to represent them on the Clark County school board next Tuesday. I’ve known Scott for over 20 years. I’ve seen him work tirelessly as a businessman, community volunteer, fundraiser and parent. He will bring a truly unique perspective with him to the school board. I’d like to take a moment to express why I believe Todd Wilson is the best candidate for the school board in District 2. I have known Todd and his family for many years, as our sons are friends and classmates. I was so excited to hear of his desire to be a part of our school board.

Todd has recently been appointed to an empty seat and has had very little time there before the seat became open for election. In that time, I believe Todd Wilson has proven that he puts our students and faculty first.

Todd brings a different perspective to our board being a parent of current students. He understands first-hand what our children need. His point of view is different than that of candidates and other current board members that do not have students in our school system today. He also brings the perspective of an educator and administrator.

Todd recognizes the needs in our classrooms for faculty and is dedicated to our teachers. Our school board should not be run as a money-making business and at the expense of our children. Todd Wilson makes decisions based on what is best for our school system. Being the mother of two GRC graduates and with a current freshman, I want individuals that put our students and teachers first serving on our school board. I believe Todd Wilson has just begun to show us how much he wants that too. A vote for Todd is a vote for Clark County children.

Bond always favors

children

I am writing in support of Elizabeth Elkins Bond for family court judge. I have known Elizabeth since 2008. I feel compelled to speak out to let others know what kind of person she is.

Elizabeth possesses a high level of honesty and integrity. I have witnessed many occasions where she could have advised her clients in how to win, honestly or not. In each and every instance, she advised honesty and taking the high road, and keeping the best interests of the children as the number one priority. She stressed that one parent winning their case against another is irrelevant, that the most important thing is doing what’s best for the children.

I know that nothing is more important to her than the well being of the children and families she serves. She becomes part of those children’s lives far beyond the courtroom. These children can invite her to a school function and she could easily give some reason she can’t attend, but more often than not, she shows up to support them. I’ve seen the look of happiness on the face of a child she helped when she attended their school open house, just because they invited her. That is just one example of the lasting impact she has on the lives of the families she’s served. They know she’s forever in their corner.

I have often heard people discuss different family court judges, and one thing I’ve heard over and over is “This judge always favors the mother” or “That judge always favors the father.” I can say with 100 percent certainty that as family court judge of Clark County, Elizabeth Elkins Bond will always favor the children. Their best interests will always be her priority, a responsibility she will take seriously and carry out faithfully. I encourage my fellow voters to write in Elizabeth Elkins Bond on Nov. 8.

Millennial for Paul

On Nov. 8, I will be supporting Dr. Rand Paul in his re-election for the United States Senate and I implore all college students to do the same. This upcoming election is crucial for countless reasons. For millennials like me, we will be electing the individuals that lead our country in one of the most influential times of our lives: entering the job market.

Dr. Rand Paul is one of the few individuals that have continued to work tirelessly to fight the burdensome regulations that destroy America’s small businesses. The only chance that our economy has to flourish is if our representatives and senators in Congress fight these unnecessary regulations. In a recent study by Fortune, 81 percent of millennials will be worse off than their parents. The job market is dwindling for recent college graduates and the easiest way to create these essentials jobs is to take the burden off the backs of America’s small business owners.

Along with blocking excessive regulation that inhibits small businesses from creating new jobs, Dr. Paul supports of slew of issues that will help everyone, especially millennials, succeed. These issues include: cutting taxes for everyone, both rich and poor; requiring term limits to reverse the damages done by career politicians; and protecting the United States Constitution from enemies, both foreign and domestic. I have lived in Clark County for all of my life and have known John Hendricks for basically all of his life. John has even served as my attorney.
