Michelle Sumpter

Michelle Sumpter recently joined Clark Regional Center as director of patient access. She will have oversight of the registration area when guests arrive to the hospital.

Michelle earned her bachelor’s degrees in history and secondary education from Mount Saint Joseph University in Cincinnati graduating magna cum laude.

Michelle began her career in healthcare at TriHealth’s Bethesda North Hospital, part of Catholic Health Initiatives. She worked in the emergency department, patient admitting and outpatient registration before moving to management roles in the laboratory and later as a manager of corporate education for patient access.

Sumpter is eager to build relationships in the Winchester community and continuing Clark’s outstanding tradition of excellence in patient care.

Sunpter and her husband, Stephen, have recently relocated from Cincinnati to Lexington with their cats and dog.

Amy Kenney 

Amy Kenney has been named the Director of Laboratory at Clark Regional Medical Center.  She earned her bachelor’s degree in clinical laboratory science from Eastern Kentucky University in 2006. She earned her associate degree in clinical laboratory technology in 2000 and began her career at Clark Regional in 2004. She has filled numerous roles during her tenure at CRMC including staff technologist microbiologist, charge tech and lead medical technologist and microbiologist.

She recently served as interim director of laboratory since May. Prior to serving as interim director, she also served as lead medical technologist and microbiologist since 2011.

Kenney and her husband Mark, have three sons, Keith, Logan and Cole.

Ashton Ledford

Ashton Ledford, coder for Clark Regional Medical Center, passed her certified coding specialist (CCS) certification on May 21. The CCS certification is a nationally accepted standard of achievement in the health information management field and signifies the holder has mastery of coding procedures.

Ashton earned her associate degree in medical coding and billing at National College of Business and Technology in May 2009.

She has been with Clark Regional Medical Center since October 2011. She was promoted to coder in November 2015.

Ashton has a 4-year-old daughter, Adrienne. She enjoys reading and loves animals. She has three dogs (Toby, Trace and Archie) and three cats (Maggie, Dexter and Bandit).
