Voting went smoothly throughout Clark County Tuesday, with good weather only helping things, according to Clark County Clerk Michelle Turner.

Turner said 58.64 percent of registered voters participated Tuesday.

As things wrapped Tuesday night, Turner said she was not aware of any significant problems, other than two voting machines which had to be replaced during the day.

“We had zillions of phone calls asking if they’re registered and where to go vote,” she said. Some of those calls were from people who registered to vote online but never called the office to follow up. Some of those were not registered, she said, and could not vote.

Throughout the county, Clark County Sheriff Berl Perdue Jr. said things seemed to go smoothly at the precincts.

“Just about all of them had lines, but it was very steady,” Perdue said.

Local results followed statewide and regional trends, with the majority of votes going to Donald Trump for U.S. president.
