Vernon H. Baber Jr, 65

Vernon H. Baber Jr, 65, of Winchester, husband for 42 years to Linda Criswell Baber, passed away Wednesday, November 16 at the Clark Regional Medical Center. He was born in Lexington on April 6, 1951, to the late Vernon H. Baber Sr. and Margaret Brown Baber. He retired from LexMark after 36 years of service, he was a United States Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War, member of First Christian Church in Paris, avid tennis player and loved ballroom dancing with his wife, he loved music and formed a band named XANTHUS in the early 70’s. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Vern (Marla) Baber III of Winchester and Julee (Ross) Baber Brooks of Glendale, CA, two grandsons, Ryder and Duncan Brooks and a step-granddaughter, Mikayla Jones. Funeral services will be Saturday, November 19 at 1pm at the First Christian Church, 911 High St, Paris with Rev. Jeff Bell presiding; the family will receive friends on Saturday from 11am until the hour of service at the church. Burial will be Monday, November 21, at 1:30pm at the Camp Nelson National Cemetery in Nicholasville, KY. Contributions may be made to the First Christian Church, Paris, KY. In care of arrangements is the Rolan G. Taylor Funeral Home, 289 S. Main St.
