WINCHESTER FIRE-EMS

— During the weekend, emergency personnel responded to 23 general medical calls, five cardiac cases, four respiratory cases and one seizure.

— At 10:14 a.m. Friday, firefighters responded to an alarm sounding at 1200 Rolling Hills Lane.

— At 3:38 p.m. Friday, firefighters were called to 129 Holly Ave. for an unauthorized fire.

— At 7:10  p.m. Saturday, firefighters were called to 139 Jefferson St. for a smell of smoke, which was traced to a faulty light ballast.

CLARK COUNTY FIRE

— At 1:48 p.m. Friday, firefighters responded to a report of smoke around Westmeade Drive and Gregory Avenue.

— At 3:40 p.m. Friday, firefighters responded to an injury accident near 9300 Irvine Road.

— At 4:25 p.m. Friday, firefighters responded to a report of smoke near Becknerville and Water Works roads.

— At 6:38 p.m. Friday, firefighters assisted EMS personnel with a call at 1800 Athens Boonesboro Road.

— At 10:47 p.m. Friday, firefighters assisted EMS personnel with a call on Potomac Drive.

— At 2:49 p.m. Saturday, firefighters responded to a structure fire at 440 LEslie Drive.

— At 9:57 p.m. Saturday, firefighters assisted EMS personnel with a call at 5374 Schollsville Road.

— At 6:42 p.m. Sunday, firefighters responded to an injury accident near 9700 Mount Sterling Road.

— At 7:30 p.m. Sunday, firefighters responded to an injury accident on Boonesboro Road.

— At 9:14 p.m. Sunday, firefighters responded to a vehicle fire near the 94 mile marker on Interstate 64.

CLARK COUNTY SHERIFF

Charged

— Brian French, 53, of 123 Buffalo Trace, was charged Saturday with reckless driving and driving under the influence

Reports

— At 12:25 p.m. Friday, deputies were called to 232 Schollsville Road after a known person took the caller’s vehicle without permission.

— At 2:07 p.m. Friday, deputies were called to 5149 Muddy Creek Road after someone took a revolver from the caller’s safe.

— At 6:02 p.m. Friday, deputies were called to 202 Woodduck Court after someone stole a utility trailer.

— At 6 p.m. Sunday, deputies were called to 704 Dogwood Lane concerning a stolen lawn mower.

Accidents

— At 6:40 p.m. Sunday, deputies responded to an injury accident on Mount Sterling Road near the Montgomery County line. A vehicle driven by Perry R. Smith of Jeffersonville was traveling east when he lost control and crossed the center line and entered the westbound lane. car struck the passing vehicle’s trailer and Smith was ejected from the vehicle. Smith was transported to St. Joseph of Mount Sterling and was pronounced dead. The driver of the other vehicle, Eugene Culton of 135 Murphy Run, was not injured.
