City commission meeting Tuesday

The Winchester Board of Commissioners will have a special meeting at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Winchester City Hall. Items on the agenda include the second-reading of a zoning ordinance regarding Rural King and a number of committee appointments. Clark Circuit Judge William Clouse will also administer the oath of office to the four commissioners.

Clark Fiscal Court meeting Wednesday

The Clark County Fiscal Court will meet at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Clark County Courthouse. Items on the agenda include approving the 2017 budgets for the sheriff’s office and the county clerk’s office and hiring two people for the Clark County Road Department.

WMU meeting canceled

The Winchester Municipal Utilities meeting scheduled for Dec. 15 has been canceled. A special meeting will be scheduled if needed. The next regular meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, at the WMU, 150 N. Main St. For more information, call 744-5434.

Farmers market open house

The Winchester-Clark County Farmers’ Market Christmas Open House will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, at the former Graham’s Boot Store, 18 N. Main St.

Conkwright SBDM meeting Dec. 13

Conkwright Elementary’s School-based Decision-making council will meet at 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Shearer SBDM special meeting

The Shearer School-based Decision-making Council will have a special meeting at 3:30 p.m. Monday in the Shearer Conference Room. The 2016–17 Comprehensive School Improvement Plan will be finalized and approved.

Sylvania retirees meeting Dec. 13

Winchester GTE/Sylvania/Osram/UAW retirees will meet for lunch 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Blue Isle on Shoppers Drive. All Winchester Sylvania retirees and former employees are welcome.
