Parks and Rec holiday hours
Winchester-Clark County Parks and Recreation will be closed Dec. 24, 25 and Jan. 1. Facilities will close at 4 p.m. Dec. 23 and Dec. 31. Everything will reopen at 8 a.m. Dec. 26 and Jan. 2.
Leaf collection extended
City-wide leaf collection will end Thursday.
WMU holiday changes
Curbside recycling will be collected Wednesday for Winchester Municipal Utilities customers with Thursday and Friday collection. Have the blue curbit to the curb by 7 a.m. WMU will be closed Dec. 22-23 for Christmas. For more information, call 744-1170.
GIS meeting rescheduled
There will be a special meeting of the Clark County Consortium for GIS Board of Directors at 10 a.m. Wednesday in place of the regular meeting scheduled for Dec. 26. The meeting will be at the WMU Administration Office, 150 N. Main St.
Retired teachers meeting Tuesday
The Clark County Retired Teachers Association will meet at 6 p.m. today in the First United Methodist Church fellowship hall for a potluck meal, with meat and drinks provided. Entertainment will be from the church’s handbell choir.
GRC SBDM meeting
The George Rogers Clark High School-based Decision-making Council will meet at 2:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 2, in the SBDM conference room.
FAFSA family night
Seniors and parents of seniors are invited to FAFSA Family Night from 5 to 8 p.m. Jan. 5 at George Rogers Clark High School. The event is hosted by GEAR UP and KHEAA. A light meal will be served. Participants should bring the Social Security number for both parents and the student and 2015 tax information.
