Republican party meeting 

The Clark County Republican Party will meet at 9 a.m. Saturday at Golden Corral on Bypass Road. Jim Waters, executive director of the Bluegrass Institute will speak. All registered republicans are encouraged to attend.

Community prayer service

There will be a community prayer service at 10 a.m. Saturday at Cornerstone Christian Church on Belmont Avenue. There will be prayers for Clark County’s schools, students and teachers; volunteers, churches and non-profits; law enforcement, court workers, emergency personnel and first responders; active duty and retired military; elected and appointed officials; and those in distress.

Extension board meeting Jan. 13

The Clark County Cooperative Extension District Board will meet at 8:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 13, at the Extension Office, 1400 Fortune Drive.

Christmas tree collection 

Winchester Municipal Utilities will collect live Christmas trees Jan. 16-19. Trees will be picked up on customers’ yard waste collection day. All trees must be free of stands, lights and ornaments. Trees should not be bagged. Have trees to the curb by 7 a.m. of scheduled pick-up day. Trees can also be brought directly to the transfer station for disposal at no cost. AmbitionFest! 2017 

Join internationally-acclaimed leader Rich Harwood for AmbitionFest! 2017 at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, at Campbell Junior High School, 620 Boone Ave. The event is free and open to the public.

SRNA classes to be offered 

Community Education is offering a State Registered Nurse Aide class this spring. Classes begin March 7 and continue through May 21.
