WINCHESTER POLICE

Charged

— Daniel Vernon Banks, 33, was charged Friday with speeding, first-degree fleeing or evading police (two counts), disregarding a traffic control device (four counts), reckless driving, attempted murder of a police officer (two counts), first-degree wanton endangerment (seven counts), receiving stolen property, resisting arrest and criminal mischief. He was also served warrants for failure to pay restitution and for a parole violation.

— Jeannie M. Barker, 36, was charged Saturday with disorderly conduct, third-degree possession of a controlled substance, illegal possession of a legend drug, second-degree possession of a controlled substance and alcohol intoxication.

— Tiffany J. Carrington, 31, was charged Saturday with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and public intoxication.

— Rose Crim, 19, was charged Saturday with first-degree possession of a controlled substance (two counts), possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.

— James Tanner Flynn, 19, was charged Saturday with racing a motor vehicle on a public highway.

— Rebecca Fraley, 20, was charged Sunday with driving under the influence and possession of an open container of alcoholic beverages in a motor vehicle.

— Charles Hall, 19, was charged Sunday with driving under the influence less than 21 years old.

— Matthew A. Vanalstine, 21, was charged Saturday with racing a motor vehicle on a public highway.

— At 6:20 a.m. Friday, officers were called to 4 Sylvania Ave. after someone broke into a truck.

— At 11:46 a.m. Friday, officers took a report concerning a stolen wallet.

— At 3:08 p.m. Friday, officers were called to Clark Regional Medical Center concerning an assault.

— At 4:48 p.m. Friday, officers were called to 120 Hospital Drive concerning a stolen vehicle. The vehicle was spotted and the call turned into a pursuit. Daniel Banks of 135 College St. was arrested on multiple offenses.

— At 8:56 p.m. Friday, officers were called to Winchester Liquidation, 514 W. Lexington Ave., concerning a person trying to break into the business. Nicholas Ryan McCarty was arrested and charged with third-degree criminal trespassing.

— At 9:35 p.m. Friday, officers were called to 41 N. Main St. concerning two stolen cell phones.

— At 10:30 p.m. Friday, officers were called to 21 E. Broadway St. concerning a stolen cell phone.

— At 1:06 a.m. Saturday, officers took a report concerning a registered sex offender who had absconded from another state.

— At 3:44 a.m. Saturday, officers were called to 209 W. Hickman St. concerning several juveniles searching through vehicles.

— At 11:27 a.m. Saturday, officers were called to 220 Oxford Drive for a domestic disturbance. 

— At 4:31 p.m. Saturday, officers were called to 40 Winchester Plaza concerning a theft of $50 from a cashier.

— At 7:02 p.m. Saturday, officers took a report concerning an EPO violation.

— At 9:34 p.m. Saturday, officers were called to 275 Sterling St. for a reckless driver complaint. Rose Crim was arrested on multiple offenses.

— At 11:37 p.m. Saturday, officers were called to 40B N. Main St. concerning a stolen cell phone.

— At 12:16 a.m Sunday, officers were called to Boone and Belmont avenues for a reckless driver complaint. Rebecca Fraley was arrested on multiple offenses.

— At 1:54 a.m. Sunday, officers took a report concerning a harassment complaint.

— At 2:21 p.m. Sunday, officers were called to 229 S. Highland St. concerning a theft.

CLARK COUNTY SHERIFF

Charged

— Tavian T. Daugherty, 19, of 18 Rowland Ave., was charged Thursday with driving under the influence, no insurance and no registration plate.

— Antonia Puckett, 27, of 913 Hackberry Circle, was charged Saturday with fourth-degree assault.

— Andrew Puckett, 29, of 913 Hackberry Circle, was charged Saturday with fourth-degree assault.

— Lind Villa, 41,of 308 Market St., was charged Saturday with driving under the influence, no insurance, driving on a suspended operator’s license and reckless driving.

Reports

— At 2:04 p.m. Friday, deputies were called to 5925 Old Boonesboro Road after a person took a vehicle without permission.

— At 5:36 p.m. Jan. 3, deputies were called to Fountain Circle Health and Rehabilitation, 200 Glenway Road, concerning a harassment complaint between a patient and a nurse.

— At 4 p.m. Saturday, deputies were called to 101 Colby Hills Drive concerning a possible theft.

— At 4:05 p.m. Sunday, deputies were called to 2460 Lexington Road concerning missing medication and damage to a vehicle.

Accidents

— At 5:27 p.m. Friday, deputies responded to an injury accident on Irvine Road in which a vehicle driven by Christopher Johnson of 2585 Iron Works Road overturned. Johnson told deputies another vehicle passed him in a no-passing zone. Johnson said he swerved to avoid the other vehicle. Johnson’s vehicle went into a ditch and overturned. Johnson and his passenger, Toni R. Hays of 2585 Iron Works Road, were both transported to Clark Regional Medical Center.

WINCHESTER FIRE-EMS

— During the weekend, emergency personnel responded to 23 general medical calls, five cardiac cases, one respiratory case, one stroke, two seizures and three overdoses.

— At 2:08 p.m. Friday, firefighters were called to 471 Ritz Court for a report of smoke in a residence. It was caused by a short in an electrical outlet.

— At 2:09 p.m. Friday, firefighters responded to an alarm sounding at 1465 W. Lexington Ave. It was a false alarm.

— At 9:33 a.m. Sunday, firefighters responded to an alarm sounding at 106 Hampton Ave. It was a false alarm.

— At 2:39 p.m. Sunday, firefighters responded to an alarm sounding at 3600 Corporate Drive caused by a broken water pipe.

CLARK COUNTY FIRE

— At 2:17 p.m. Friday, firefighters responded to an alarm sounding at 1465 W. Lexington Ave.

— At 5:27 p.m. Friday, firefighters responded to an injury accident on Irvine Road.

— At 3:41 a.m. Saturday, firefighters assisted EMS personnel with a call at 725 Williamsburg Drive.

— At 7:49 p.m. Saturday, firefighters responded to a smell of smoke in a structure at 145 Casa Landa Way.

— At 4:38 p.m. Sunday, firefighters were called to 7453 Old Boonesboro Road for an attic or chimney fire.

— At 12:20 a.m. Monday, firefighters assisted EMS personnel with a call at 917 Vienna Road.

— At 7:20 a.m. Monday, firefighters responded to an injury accident on Interstate 64 near the 92 mile marker.
