William Young Stone, 88, passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2017.

He was born in Clark County, Kentucky, on July 1, 1928, to the late Ernest Stone Sr. and Cora Lee Chism Stone. He was retired from Stone Water Haul Company, Veneer Timber and Winchester Fire Department. He was a member of the NRA, chair member of Central Kentucky Coon Hunters and Macedonian Baptist Church. Mr. Stone was an Army veteran, having served in the Korean War and a Bronze Star recipient.

Survivors include four children, Michael G. Stone, Holly Crawford, Paula (Orville) Johnson and Sandra Stone; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one step grandchild; two brothers, Donald G. (Emma Sue) Stone and Mickey Stone; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers, Ernest Stone Jr., Othel Stone and Leon C. Stone.

Service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, January 12, 2017, at Scobee Funeral Home by Pastor Jim Skidmore. Burial will be at 10:00AM, Friday, January 13, 2017, at Clarmont Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Steven and Jason Crawford, Alex Johnson, Chuck Hawkins, Tracy and Mitchell Stone. Honorary pallbearers will be Orville Johnson, Paul Sorrell, Hudson Hawkins, Ray Hatton, David, John and Darell Stone.

Family will receive friends from 5:00PM until time of service Thursday.
