Christine “Tina” Anne Bailey, 71

Christine “Tina” Anne Bailey, 71, Winchester, loving wife of Ray Bailey Jr. for 53 years, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at the University of Kentucky Hospital surrounded by all of her loved ones by her side. She was taken from us unexpectedly that day. 

Tina was the quintessential matriarch of the “Kentucky Bailey Clan.” Born July 10, 1945 in Auburn, New York. She was the daughter of the late Earl and Anna Zimmer, and a graduate of Weedsport High School. Tina was an administrative assistant for several family businesses throughout her life. She was an 11 year breast cancer survivor. But, her most gratifying accomplishment was caring for her family. She had a great love for life, was passionate about her family, loved NFL football and hosting family events for all holidays. Her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren, as she made each one feel as though they were the “favorite.”

She lives on through her children, Sheila Bailey Maxam, H.R. (Jenny) Bailey, Joel (Becky) Bailey, all of Winchester, and Brock (Lisa) Bailey of Nicholasville. As well as thirteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren, James Russell (Ashley) Maxam, Daniel Maxam, Ryder (Whitney) Maxam, Conner Maxam, Almond (Darrin) Howard, Jeremy Hurt, Hannah Bailey, Ashley Bailey, Bryce Bailey, Preston Andrew Bailey, Jax Maxam and Tillie Jo Maxam, as well as a son n law Jim Maxam.

She is survived by two brothers, Joe and Hank Zimmer all of Weedsport, N.Y. as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Fred and John Zimmer.

Services will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Scobee Funeral Home by Reverend Kenny Speaks. Interment will follow in the Lexington Cemetery. A reception will follow at the home of Ray and Tina Bailey at 1530 Cole Rd.

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until the time of the service.
