Robert Blakeman, 16 Woodland Drive, has been named to the Dean’s List for the fall semester at Lexington Community College with a 4.0 Grade Point Average.

The Jan. 23 meeting of the Towne and Country Homemakers Club was held at the Calvary Christian Church with Delores Hess, president, conducting the meeting. The devotional was given by Trudy McKinney and Dianne Madara submitted the treasurer’s report.  The lesson “Spark Up Your Kitchen” was given by Lynn Witt and Trudy McKinney and a mini lesson, “Writing to Government Officials,” was given by Mrs. Hess.

The George Rogers Clark High School Lady Cardinals are first in the state in scoring defense, according to figures released Friday by the Kentucky High School Athletic Association. Through 17 games the Clark’s Lady Cardinals held their opponents to an average of 28.6 points per game, more than nine points a game fewer than the second place team, Oldham County.
