Edward Scott Ritchie, grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Ritchie, Winchester, and son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Billy Scott Ritchie, has been accepted for admission to the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry, Lexington.

A senior at the University of Kentucky, he is a 1988 graduate of George Rogers Clark High School.

There was good news and bad news for the 10th Region Friday at Letcher Norton Gym.

The good news for the 10th is that Pendleton County’s Wildcats, coming at 3-14, battled the George Rogers Clark High School Cardinals down to the last punch in Clark’s 75-68 victory.

Kentucky Secretary of State Bob Babbage carried the Olympic torch down South Main Street from in front of the Clark County Courthouse Friday afternoon to begin a two-week Reading Olympics at Odell Gross School.
