A trio of women were arrested Wednesday afternoon after they admitted to trying to sell themselves.

Winchester Police received a call of women standing near the corner of North Main Street and Holly Avenue shortly before 3 p.m. When officers arrived, the women were standing there and reportedly told officers what they were doing.

Nancy Chandler, 39, of 7 Holly Ave., said she would engage in prostitution “every now and then” and admitted to using methamphetamine earlier in the day.

A second suspect, 37-year-old Pollie Castro of 150 Magnolia St., said she had just taken a shower and did as many “deals”  as she needed to get a pill, according to the arrest citation.

A third, 34-year-old Amanda Henson of Mutual Avenue, said she only did it to get by.

All three were cited to court for loitering, though Henson was arrested on a warrant for failure to pay fines. Chandler was also arrested for public intoxication.

Winchester Police Capt. Harvey Craycraft said all three admitted to their intentions, but none had been picked up yet.
