Kentucky State Police say a man involved in an Owen County double shooting may be in the Winchester or Mount Sterling area.

Police said Derrick May Thomas, 23, of Mount Sterling, allegedly shot James Neal, 54, of Owenton, on Feb. 17. Police said they received a 911 call concerning a male and female shot in the residence on Old Columbus Road.

James Neal was shot in the hand and leg, and 25-year-old Amber Neal of Owenton was shot in the arm.

Thomas allegedly left the resident in a gray 2003 Mitsubishi Galant with Kentucky license plate number 124 VET.

Police warn he could be armed and dangerous.

Police say he may be in the company of his girlfriend, 22-year-old Elizabeth Neal and their two children, ages 1 and 3.

Police advise against making contact with Thomas and ask anyone with information to call KSP at 502-532-6363.
