AARP meeting Tuesday
AARP Chapter 632 will meet at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at the James Allen Generations Center, 32 Meadow St. Following a potluck meal, Bluegrass Heritage Museum director Sandy Stults will speak to the group.
Class of 1948 lunch
The Clark County High School Class of 1948 will meet for lunch at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Maddie’s on Main.
Community Education office moving
Community Education is moving to the Clark Extended Education Center, 100 Vaught Road, on Wednesday. Phones and computers will be down temporarily that day.
AARP offers tax preparation help
The AARP Tax-Aide Foundation program will offer free tax preparation, counseling and electronic filing and Mondays and Tuesdays until April 18 at the Central Baptist Church annex, 101 W. Lexington Ave. Taxpayers should bring their 2015 tax return and all documents showing 2016 income. Those itemizing should also bring proof of taxes paid and contributions.
School board special meeting
The Clark County Board of Education will have a special meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Central Office, 1600 W. Lexington Ave. The agenda includes discussion of the 2017-18 school year calendar. The meeting is open to the public.
Sylvania retirees meeting March 14
Winchester GTE/Sylvania/Osram/UAW retirees will meet for lunch at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 14 at Blue Isle on Shoppers Drive. All Winchester Sylvania retirees and former employees are welcome.
Community Education classes offered
Clark County Community Education will offer the following classes in the next two weeks:
— Yoga fitness: 6-7 p.m. Wednesdays, March 1 through April 5, $25 ($20 for parks and recreation members).
— Bellydance Fitness: 7:15-8:30 p.m. Wednesdays, March 1 through April 5, $30 ($20 for parks and recreation members).
— Conversational Spanish: 6-7:30 p.m., Thursdays March 2 through April 20 (no class April 6) and Thursdays, April 27 through June 8, 6-7:30 p.m., $75 per 7-week session.
— Ballroom dance: 7;8:45 p.m. Tuesdays, March 7 through April 25, $100 per couple ($90 per couple for parks and recreation members).
Registration and payment are required two business days in advance.
Location of class will be disclosed upon registration.
