— At a county-wide academic competition for elementary schools at Clark Middle School Saturday, Central School won District 1 competition while Trapp School won in District 2.

— The Sun congratulates Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Scott, Winchester, on the birth of a son Friday at Humana Hospital, Lexington. He has been named Ryan Dale. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Witt and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hull, Winchester.

— Mr. and Mrs. Barry Omohundro have purchased a residence at 38 Hampton Ave. from the estate of Emily Clay Bush. The transaction was handled by Century 21 Tom Perry, listing agent, and Linda Bridgewater, Coldwell Banker Manor Real Estate, selling agent.
