More parks needed on west side of town

We have been residents of Winchester for about a year and a half and we love this community. It’s nice to be part of a small town that values recreation, as evidenced by the many parks there are around town.

However, one thing that struck us immediately upon moving to our new neighborhood on the west side of Winchester is that there are no parks close by. I find it odd that all the parks are in or near downtown or to the east of town.

We are fortunate to have the walking trail just off the bypass. That spot would seem to be great place for a new park to serve the growing west side of town. I believe this parcel is owned by the Greater Clark Foundation. I wonder if there are any plans to eventually develop this spot as a park? It would sure be appreciated.
