Salem Presbyterian Church, 312 Combs Ferry Road, is happy to welcome Pastor Donald F. Stanley Jr. and his wife, Doris.
“We are excited to be a part of the mission and ministry of the Salem Presbyterian Church, ‘Sharing God’s Grace, Love and Joy,’” Stanley Jr. said. “I especially look forward to the upcoming season of Lent, during which we hope to learn more about what it means to be a committed disciple of Jesus Christ in today’s world.”
Stanley, born in East Liverpool, Ohio, and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is a graduate of Westminister College in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania, where he met Doris. T
hey married and soon moved to Richmond, Virginia, where the pastor received his master of divinity degree from Union Theological Seminary. At the same time, Doris received her masters in piano performance and voice from Virginia Commonwealth University.
The Stanleys have three sons (all of whom are involved in church work), three granddaughters and one grandson. They are glad to be nearer to their granddaughters, who live in Richmond, an added blessing for moving to Kentucky.
On Sundays, Salem is alive with words from Pastor Don in the pulpit and music from Doris at the piano, as well as love and devotion from all who meet in the sanctuary of our small and friendly country church.
With joy and with gratitude to God, we have welcomed Pastor Don and Doris and we welcome all those who would choose to gather with us in worship services at 11 a.m. on Sundays.
