Janice Law Mullen Manley, 85

Janice Law Mullen Manley, 85, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, March 6, 2017.

 

She was born on March 23, 1931 in Morehead, KY to the late Gillard and Elma Law. She was a retired Nurse from the Veterans Administration in Lexington. She also worked in Nursing at the St. Claire Medical Center and the Nursing Home in Morehead. She attended Calvary Baptist Church in Winchester.

She is survived by one daughter, Debi “Star” Johnson of Winchester; two sons, Dave (Sue) Mullen of Winchester and Tommy Mullen of Irvine, six grandchildren; Mike (Candice) Mullen Mader of Yoakum TX, Hannah (Kyle) Roberts of Winchester, Dave Mullen, Jr., of Aurora, CO, Bill Mullen of Winchester, Stacey Mullen of Galveston, TX., and Parker Mullen of Irvine, KY. Eight great grandchildren and lots of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Mike Mullen and Scott Mullen, her first husband of 25 years, Bill Mullen and her second husband of 30 years, A.B. Manley, sister, Jo Brewer and a brother Buck Law.

She loved her flower gardens as well as growing and canning all kinds of vegetables. She also enjoyed going to yard sales and having her “own” annual Labor Day Weekend Sale for 34 years. She was a frequent shopper at C.C.’s Closet, always looking for a unique treasure.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Scobee Funeral Home in Winchester, KY. Visitation will also be on Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead, KY.

Memorial services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals by Bro. Jess Brewer and Bro. James McIntosh. Burial will follow in the Brown Cemetery, Morehead, KY.

Pallbearers will be Mark Law, Jimmy McKenzie, David Mullen, Jr., David Mullen III, Bill Mullen, E.R. Johnson and Kyle Roberts. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Mullen Mader, Don Brewer, Jay McKenzie, Dakota Thompson Roberts, Carson Roberts, Parker Mullen and Jerry Keefer.
