Cecil Fox, George Rogers Clark High School, is a finalist in the 1992 Sweet 16 Academic Showcase, and will be participating in the chess competition which begins March 19 at Transylvania University, Lexington.

The Warriors captured the Winchester Civitan Youth Basketball League Tournament championship Saturday at Belmont Gym with a 57-39 victory over the Royals, who upset the Cavaliers Friday night to win a berth in the championship contest.

Two former George Rogers Clark High School Cardinals were on opposite sides Saturday night in Georgetown when the undefeated Tigers played Transylvania in the NAIA District 32 semifinals.

Senior Steve Schureman and his Tiger Teammates remained unbeaten at 32-0 with an 87-78 victory over sophomore Robbie Fulks and his Transylvania teammates.
