— Winchester firefighters put out a small fire in a vacant lot behind Westwood Apartments at 3:57 p.m. Sunday. Officials said the blaze was started by children playing with matches.

— Veatrice Fleming has returned to her home, 51 Willow Drive, following major surgery Tuesday at the Central Baptist Hospital, Lexington.

— The Clark County School system will conduct kindergarten pre-registration from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. March 25 at all elementary schools.

Parents have been asked by the school system to register their children at the school in the district in which the child resides, bringing with them the child’s birth certificate and social security number.
