The Winchester-Clark County Parks and Recreation Board approved the department’s 1993 budget Monday, but air conditioning for the College Park Library will wait at least another year.

Bennett Gaston, a senior at George Rogers Clark High School, and daughter of Ms. Diane Gatson, 29 Boone Ave., has been awarded a scholarship to Erskine College, Due West, S.C.

The Clark County Board of Education spent a good deal of Monday’s meeting discussing the building of a single elementary school — a concession from a last minute attempt at getting the state to approve the original  plan of two small grade schools. Construction should begin as early as mid-May.
