Gospel extravaganza March 26

The Winchester Black History and Heritage Committee will have a gospel music extravaganza at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 26, at Broadway Baptist Church, 121 W. Broadway St. Directors and musicians will include Teresa Action, William Fitzgerald, Pearl Gordon and Lorenzo Taylor.

Workshop practices will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 23 and Friday, March 24, and 7 p.m. Saturday, March 25, at the church. The Workshop fee is $5. For more information, call Jacquetta Hudson at 749-4186 or Joyce Morton at 744-7207.

Revival at Greater St. James CME

Greater St. James CME Church, 410 Washington St., will have revival at 6:30 p.m. nightly March 22-24. The Rev. Marvin King of First Baptist Church will be the revival evangelist.

Clean Living 101 offered

First United Methodist Church, 204 S. Main St., is offering an introduction to living organically from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the church. There will be vendors to speak about organic foods, farming, cleaning, personal care items, essential oils and much more. Products will be available to test and to purchase and vendors will give demonstrations and answer questions about their products. Vendors include Norwex products, doTERRA Essential Oils, a representative of Clark County Farmer’s Market and My Father’s Garden.

Girl Scout Sunday at Epperson FCOG

Epperson First Church of God will have Girl Scout Sunday at 10:30 a.m. Sunday with Troop 492 of Winchester. The service will recognize the scouts and will be followed by a meal. All are welcome.

Broadway Christian warming center

Broadway Christian Church, 130 W. Broadway St., will serve as a warming center from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on days with inclement weather.

Celebrate Recovery meetings

Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered recovery program based on the eight beatitudes, the 12 steps and their biblical comparisons. This program is for any hurt, hang-up or habit. There is childcare available for ages newborn to 4 years and Celebration Place, a pre-covery program for ages 5 to 12. The meetings are every Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Calvary Christian Church, 15 Redwing Drive. The Landing is a support program based on the eight beatitudes for teens struggling with issues such as family relationships, food issues, being bullied, low self-esteem, drugs, alcohol, cutting or behavior problems. The meetings are from 7 to 8:45 p.m. Tuesdays at the RAC, 17 S. Main St. For more information, call Dickie at Calvary Christian Church at 744-0817. 

Conversation and Communion

Conversation and Communion take place each week at Gaunce’s Deli. Participants will share a light meal or snack on Tuesdays at 5:30 p.m. and begin Bible study at 6 p.m. The study, which is led by the Rev. Chana Tetzlaff of Emmanuel Episcopal Church, will be followed by holy communion. 

Grace Bible feeding program

Grace Bible Church, 250 N. Main St., has a feeding program Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 5:30 p.m. and Sundays at 5 p.m. For more information, call 737-4722.
