City commissioners meeting
The Winchester Board of Commissioners will meet in regular session at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Winchester City Hall. Items included on the agenda include the purchase of 40 body cameras for the Winchester Police Department and approving a grant application for Winchester Fire-EMS. There will also be a special meeting at 4:30 p.m. Both meetings are open to the public.
Clark Fiscal Court meeting
The Clark County Fiscal Court will meet in regular session at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Clark County Courthouse. Items on the agenda include approving a lease to finance the new jail boiler and the first reading of two zone change ordinances.
Extension district board meeting
The Clark County Cooperative Extension District Board will meet at 4:30 p.m. Monday at the Extension Office, 1400 Fortune Drive.
East Clark County Water District meeting
The East Clark County Water District board of commissioners will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at 118 Hopkins Lane.
American Legion meeting
American Legion Post 25 will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Elks Lodge on Shoppers Drive. All veterans are welcome. First-time attenders should bring a DD214. Officers will be elected. New
GRC SBDM meeting
The George Rogers Clark High School-based Decision-making Council will meet at 4 p.m. Monday in the SBDM conference room at the school. The council will consider staffing allocations and budget for next school year.
Conkwright SBDM meeting
The Conkwright Elementary School-based Decision-making Council will have a special meeting at 4:15 p.m. Tuesday.
Hydrant flushing to begin
Winchester Municipal Utilities anticipates beginning annual hydrant flowing, along with the city and county fire departments, Monday. The work typically takes about five weeks and is expected to conclude Friday, April 21. Dates and specific areas will be advertised in the Sun and posted on WMU’s Facebook and website.
School board meeting
The Clark County Board of Education will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Central Office, 1600 W. Lexington Ave. The meeting is open to the public.
Athletic complex schematics on display
The schematic designs for the George Rogers Clark High School athletic complex are on display at the Clark County Board of Education for viewing from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Human services council meeting
The Clark County Human Services Council will meet at noon Tuesday at Arby’s. All human service agencies serving Clark County are invited to send a representative.
AARP offers tax preparation help
The AARP Tax-Aide Foundation program will offer free tax preparation, counseling and electronic filing Mondays and Tuesdays until April 18 at the Central Baptist Church annex, 101 W. Lexington Ave. Taxpayers should bring their 2015 tax return and all documents showing 2016 income.
Harold G. Epperson Detachment 1113 meeting
The Harold G. Epperson Detachment 1113 of the Marine Corps League will meet at 9 a.m. Saturday, March 25, at the Whitaker Bank in Stanton.
4-H Council meeting
The Clark County 4-H Council will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Extension Office.
Community Education classes offered
The following Community Education class is beginning in the next two weeks:
— Basic Excel, 6-8 p.m. Thursdays, March 23 to April 6, $65.
