WINCHESTER POLICE

Charged

— Alison Dearing, 37, was charged Friday with third-degree possession of a controlled substance, illegal possession of a legend drug, possession of drug paraphernalia, public intoxication and was served a warrant.

— Emily K. Duty, 46, was charged Sunday with driving under the influence and possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.

— Steven P. Elliott, 62, was charged Saturday with failure to maintain insurance and driving under the influence.

— Lavonda C. Jones, 33, was charged Saturday with speeding, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

— Verlon Edward Kennon, 29, was charged Saturday with first-degree criminal trespass, first-degree possession of a controlled substance, theft of medical records and theft by unlawful taking.

— Jonathan Gary Simpson, 41, was charged Friday with first-degree possession of a controlled substance.

— Jason Allen Smart, 43, was charged Saturday with alcohol intoxication, fourth-degree assault and menacing.

— Derrick Lamont Sullivan, 39, was charged Sunday wtih possession of marijuana and was served a warrant.

Reports

— At 12:50 a.m. Friday, officers were called to Walmart, 1859 Bypass Road, concerning a theft.

— At 12:56 a.m. Friday, officers were called to Walmart, 1859 Bypass Road, for people causing problems. Jonathan Simpson and Alison Dearing were arrested on multiple charges.

— At 1:12 a.m. Friday, officers were called to 1200 Fulton Road concerning an assault.

— At 9:39 a.m. Friday, officers were called to 4 Leonard Ave. concerning a theft of a camper during the night.

— At 12:06 p.m. Friday, officers were called to 225 Oxford Drive concerning a stolen PlayStaton 4.

— At 5:47 p.m. Friday, officers were called to Campbell Junior High School, 620 Boone Ave., concerning a stolen backpack and cell phone.

— At 6:46 p.m. Friday, officers were called to 40 Oliver St. concerning a theft.

— At 12:48 a.m. Saturday, officers were called to 108 E. Hickman St. for a fight in progress.

— At 12:09 p.m. Saturday, officers were called to 358 Camden Drive concerning a stolen vehicle.

— At 8:13 p.m. Saturday, officers were called to 322 S. Main St. concerning a theft of money.

— At 12:17 a.m. Sunday, officers were called to 27 E. Washington St. after someone broke into an apartment and took a cell phone and other property.

CLARK COUNTY SHERIFF

Charged

— Richard Gilbert, 43, of 78 Tyler Banks Court, was charged Friday with driving under the influence.

— Gary L. Thomas, 30, of Mount Sterling, was charged Saturday with first- and second-degree criminal mischief, leaving the scene of an accident and attempted theft of an auto.

— Jaime A. torres, 19, of Versailles, was charged Sunday with driving under the influence less than 21 years old, no operator’s license and failure to maintain insurance.

Reports

— At 3:41 p.m. Friday, deputies were called to 605 Westmeade Drive after someone broke into a residence and took several items including a handgun, a laptop computer and medication.

— At 9:47 p.m. Friday, deputies were called to Fas Mart, 5400 Revilo Road, concerning a theft.

— At 3:16 p.m. Saturday, deputies joined a pursuit of a suspect on Interstate 64 from Montgomery County. Deputies followed the suspect leave the interstate, drive through a fence and onto Rockwell Road. The suspect, Gary L. Thomas, was eventually captured at 2020 Hancock Valley Road and charged with multiple offenses.

Accidents

— At 5:41 a.m. Sunday, deputies responded to an injury accident on Ecton Road in which Jaime A. Torres of Versailles was driving and struck a utility pole near 2724 Ecton Road. Both Torres and his passenger, Lugo Girbeerto of Versailles, were transported to Clark Regional Medical Center with unspecified injuries. Torres was charged with driving under the influence and other offenses.

— At 11:14 a.m. Saturday, deputies responded to an injury accident at 1360 Gay Evans Road in which Travis Purvis of 1540 Wades Mill Road, said he looked away from the road and his vehicle went off the road and struck a tree, which then fell on top of his vehicle. Purvis and two passengers, Chris Curtis and MacKenzie Curtis of Winchester, were all transported to Clark Regional Medical Center with unspecified injuries.

WINCHESTER FIRE-EMS

— During the weekend, emergency personnel responded to 34 general medical calls, seven cardiac cases, seven respiratory cases, one diabetic case, one seizure and seven motor vehicle accidents.

CLARK COUNTY FIRE

— At 8:16 a.m. Friday, firefighters were called to 13373 Irvine Road to assist with a fall victim.

— At 1:46 p.m. Friday, firefighters assisted EMS personnel with a call at 11400 Irvine Road.

— At 3:18 p.m. Friday, firefighters responded to an alarm sounding at 5044 Mount Sterling Road.

— At 6:35 p.m. Friday, firefighters responded to a motor vehicle collision on Mount Sterling Road.

— AT 8:03 p.m. Friday, firefighters assisted EMS personnel with a call at 1895 Crowe Ridge Road.

— At 9:04 p.m. Friday, firefighters were called to 4274 Colby Road for a report of smoke in the area.

— At 9:53 p.m. Friday, firefighters responded to a mutual aid request from Montgomery County.

— At 11:14 a.m. Saturday, firefighters responded to an injury accident on Gay Evans Road.

— On Saturday, firefighters responded to a motor vehicle collision near 1200 Irvine Road.

— At 1:27 p.m. Sunday, firefighters responded to an injury accident on Lexington Road.

— At 3:27 p.m. Sunday, firefighters responded to a motor vehicle collision near the 6 mile marker on the Mountain Parkway.

— At 9:51 p.m. Sunday, firefighters responded to a motor vehicle collision near 2613 Ford Hampton Road.
