Barbara C. Taylor, 76, of Winchester, born January 1, 1941, wife for 54 years to William C. “Bill” Taylor, passed away on March 21, 2017 at their home.

She was born in Clark County to the late Floyd Buford and Jessie Mae Benge Chism. She was retired from Clark County Board of Education, graduated from Winchester High School and was a member of First Baptist Church and the Senior Ladies Sunday School Class.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by Daughters: Elizabeth Taylor Gallant, Karen (Ken) Taylor Slone, Amy Taylor McCarthy and Jennifer (James) Taylor Shofner, Grandchildren: Kyle William Gallant, Claire Ramsey McCarthy, Cameron James McCarthy, Jacob Tate Shofner and Jonah Todd Shofner, Great-Grandchildren: Ethan Bentley Gallant and Harrison Cade Simpson and their mother, Christie Gallant. Siblings: Sister, Judith (Ralph) Chism Bailey, brother, Jimmie (Susann) Chism and brother, Earl Wayne (Diana) Chism, as well as extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and Grandson, Taylor Joseph Gallant.

Funeral services will be Friday at 11am at the Rolan G. Taylor Funeral Home, 289 S. Main St, with Dr. John Owen presiding. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5p-7p at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Kyle William Gallant, Jacob Tate Shofner, Cameron James McCarthy, Jonah Todd Shofner, James Todd Shofner and Colburn Turner. Honorary Pallbearers: Claire Ramsey McCarthy, Ethan Bentley Gallant, Harrison Cade Simpson, Phillip Durbin and Ken Slone.

Burial will be in the Winchester Cemetery.
