Hydrant flushings continue Thursday 

Winchester Municipal Utilities will be flushing hydrants in the following areas Thursday: A Street, Alene Court, Apache Trail, Arbor Court, Aubrey Lane, Baldwin Avenue, Blair Avenue, Breeze Hill Drive, East Broadway Street, Buffalo Trace, Burton Avenue, Bypass Road, Byrd Avenue, Carol Road, College Street, Connie Lane, Custer Court, Dale Drive, Daytona Drive, Dixon Way, Dover Court, Dudley Street, Fulton Road, Geronimo Court, Graves Street, Hamilton Street, Hays Street, Hiawatha Trail, Hidden Hills Way, Huls Avenue, Johnson Street, Judy Ann Court, West Lexington Avenue, Memorial park, Navajo Trail, Oxford Drive, Patio Street, Pocahontas Trail, Pueblo Court, Rowland Avenue, Saxon Court, Seminole Trail, Strode Station Circle, Surrey Court, Westwood Drive and Wilson Lane.

Republican Party to meet Saturday

The Clark County Republican Party meets at 9 a.m. Saturday at Golden Corral. Guest speaker is Mike Duncan, former chairman of the National Republican Party and current member of the Republican National Committee. All registered Republicans are welcome to attend.

Ad Development Council will meet April 3

The Clark County Ag Development Council will meet at 6 p.m. Monday, April 3, at the Clark County Extension Office, 1400 Fortune Drive.

Homemakers council to meet

The Clark County Homemakers Council will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 4, at the Clark County Extension Office. 

Fiscal Court beginning budget workshops

The Clark County Fiscal Court will have its first budget workshop meeting at 9:30 a.m. today at the Clark County Courthouse. Scheduled presentations include parks and recreation, the Generations Center, the Clark County Sheriff’s Office and the industrial authority.

Stool weaving workshop to be held

The Clark County Sassie Craft Homemakers Club is sponsoring a stool weaving workshop at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 15, at the Clark County Extension Office. The class costs $35, which included all supplies. For more information or to register, call the extension office at 744-4682.

AARP offers tax preparation help

The AARP Tax-Aide Foundation program will offer free tax preparation, counseling and electronic filing Mondays and Tuesdays until April 18 at the Central Baptist Church annex, 101 W. Lexington Ave. Taxpayers should bring their 2015 tax return and all documents showing 2016 income. Those itemizing should also bring proof of taxes paid and contributions.
