Ale-8-One hires new brand director

Ale-8-One Bottling Co., maker of the hand-crafted, ginger-based soft drink, announced Chris Doyle has joined the company this month as director of brand management.

Doyle has an MBA from the University of Georgia and has 15 years of marketing, brand management, consumer insights and product development experience in the U.S. and international markets.

He most recently worked at Brown-Forman on brand strategies for Finlandia Vodka, where he developed an innovative environmental cause marketing campaign and led new product development.

“As our company grows and adds new retailers and markets, we are pleased to have Chris Doyle join us and look forward to his expertise in building on the success of the Ale-8-One brand,” Ale-8-One President Ellen McGeeney said.

Doyle explained his feelings on the brand director position when he added, “This is a pivotal time for Ale-8-One as they continue to grow and expand distribution efforts across the U.S. This is a family-owned company whose values align with mine, and they have an outstanding product line. It is an exciting time to join the Ale-8 team!”

Ale-8-One soft drink has been bottled in green glass in Winchester since 1926.

The only soft drink invented in Kentucky still in existence, the proprietary blend is flavored with real ginger and citrus, and contains less carbonation and fewer calories than conventional sodas.

The company’s founder and inventor G.L. Wainscott developed the recipe. To this day, the company continues to be independent, locally-owned and family operated by Wainscott’s great-great nephew, Fielding Rogers.
