Scrambling for eggs at College Park

About 150 children descended upon College Park Saturday afternoon to hunt the most festive game of all: Easter eggs.

The event, hosted by the Winchester Civitan Club, has occurred annually for more than 20 years, according to organizer Alicia Mayabb.

The event featured three different hunts for toddlers, young children and elementary age hunters. Participants collected as many eggs as they could and turned them into Civitan volunteers waiting at the park’s shelter for prizes and goodie bags, including bicycles for the older first-place winners.

“We gave away three prizes for each age group for a total of nine prizes,” Mayabb said.
