There is little reason to be bored this weekend, especially if you are a kid on the prowl for Easter eggs.

Hunts are scheduled throughout the county and the weekend. One of the most interesting is the annual underwater egg hunt, set for Saturday in the pool at Winchester-Clark County Parks and Recreation on Wheeler Avenue. This year’s is the fifth annual, where children search the pool for brightly-colored eggs.

Participants are split into two groups: those 6 and younger are welcome at 1 p.m. Saturday. Those age 7 to 14 swim at 2 p.m. Cost is $12 to participate.

The Department of Community-Based Services is also having a family fun day Saturday at Campbell Junior High School in conjunction with Child Abuse Prevention Month. An Easter egg hunt is only part of the festivities. Other activities include an obstacle course, other events for children and booths for provider. There will be prizes as well. The event begins at 11 a.m. Saturday at the school, 620 Boone Ave.

Grace Baptist Church is having a massive egg hunt a little after noon Sunday at Baker Intermediate School. Church officials said 10,000 Easter eggs will be dropped from a helicopter. The church will also have its services at the school at 10:30 a.m. and is offering free family photos as well.

For the less egg-interested, Leeds is unveiling its new restoration tonight with a “Rediscover Leeds” open house at 7 p.m. on North Main Street. During the last four months, the 91-year-old theater has been transformed with many overdue repairs and new colors throughout.

On Saturday, Kentucky cellist Ben Sollee will take the stage for a concert at 7:30 p.m. The show will cap a mini-residency in Winchester for Sollee, who will perform for a yoga session at the Leeds today at 10 a.m. An avid cyclist, he will also participate in a bicycle alley tour today at 5 p.m.
