Dean, Judith Rhea Collins, died at The Episcopal Church Home in Louisville, KY on Saturday, April 15, 2017.

During her short time there, although suffering from the final stages of dementia, Judy’s outgoing nature and desire to help others endeared her to residents and staff.

Judy was born June 2, 1945 in Glasgow, KY, graduated from high school in Geelong, Australia, and from college at the University of Louisville. Judy lived in Louisville most of her adult life and in Winchester, KY in later years.

She was preceded in death by her mother Mary M. Smith of Winchester, father Russell Collins of Okeechobee, FL, and brother Donnie.

Judy is survived by sisters Shirley (Mark) McCammish of Winchester and Susan Morrison of Jacksonville, NC; daughters Lisa Dean of Louisville and Lori Cordova of Richmond, VA; son Jason Dean of Louisville; grandchildren Philip, Sierra, Savannah, and Isaac Cordova of Richmond, VA; stepfather Donald Smith of Glasgow, KY.; Five nephews and two great grandchildren.

Judy was a talented decorator, avid tennis player, gourmet cook, and a creator of exquisite cross stitch works that will be cherished for generations. Judy’s bubbly personality and love of all made her a natural for her career in sales at her tennis shop at Blairwood in Louisville, real estate, and contract furniture. She shared her personality as a greeter at Southeast Christian Church. While in Winchester, she attended Emmanuel Episcopal Church.

Judy was an avid dog lover and is survived by Patrone, her latest rescue Weimaraner. With that in mind, the family requests that any remembrances be to the Winchester Clark Co. Animal Shelter.

A family graveside service will be at the Winchester Cemetery on April 26th.
