For the physically active and inactive, there are options to get out of the house this weekend and help a couple causes.

Beginning at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, the annual Joe F. Reed Memorial Heart Walk begins at Clark Regional Medical Center. The event raises funds for the American Heart Association.

The event was renamed in Reed’s honor in 2010. Reed was a long-time volunteer for the American Heart Association and a “champion” for the AHA’s work, officials said previously.
