Students at Shearer Elementary School each received a new pair of shoes Wednesday from volunteers from New Life Assembly of God-Winchester.

According to Pastor Richard VanHuss, the church has been working with Convoy of Hope, a humanitarian organization that assists underserved rural areas both domestically in the United States and abroad, in addition to providing disaster relief services worldwide.

Convoy of Hope received and dispersed new shoes that had been donated to the church, which was able to supply every Shearer student with a new pair. VanHuss said that new shoes will be coming to Conkwright Elementary as well.
