Rabies clinic May 9

There will be a rabies clinic from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, at Beech Springs Farm Market, 4776 Old Boonesboro Road. Cost is $5. The clinic is sponsored by the Clark County Veterinary Clinic and the Clark County Health Department.

Clark GOP meeting Saturday

The Clark County Republican Party will meet at 9 a.m. Saturday at Golden Corral. All registered Republicans are encouraged to attend.

Kiwanis Club to meet May 17

Kiwanis chairperson Dave Mullen, owner of the Craft Nook, will serve as host for Lisa Whitaker, executive director of New Beginnings during a lunch at noon Wednesday, May 17, at Taste of China on Bypass Road. The club meets at noon every Wednesday.

Human Services Council to meet  May 16

The next Clark County Human Service Council meeting will be at noon Tuesday, May 16, at Arby’s. All human services agencies serving Clark County are invited to send a representative.

Flag retirement ceremony May 27

The Central Kentucky Coon hunters Association will have its annual flag retirement and veteran appreciation ceremony at 6 p.m. Saturday, May 27, at the club’s property at 3601 Pine Ridge Road. A meal will be at 6 p.m. followed by the flag retirement ceremony at 7 p.m. For more information, call 771-0866. It is open to the public.

Hospital to celebrate 100th anniversary 

Robert Parker, new chief executive officer of Clark Regional Medical Center, will be joined by leaders from LifePoint Health for a community celebration of Clark Regional’s 100th anniversary from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 10. In addition, CRMC will host a community health fair as part of the week-long celebration, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 13. Both events are at CRMC, 175 Hospital Drive.

Sylvania retirees meeting May 9

Winchester GTE/Sylvania/Osram/UAW retirees will gather for lunch 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 9, at Bruen’s Restaurant in Stanton. All Winchester Sylvania retirees and former employees are welcome.

GRC accepting SBDM nominations

George Rogers Clark High School will be accepting parent nominations for the school-based decision-making council through Friday. Nominations can be made by email to kathie.sosby@clark.kyschools.us. The election will be from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, at the school.

Youth fishing day May 13

The Clark County Fish and Game Club’s annual youth fishing day will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 13, at the clubhouse on Water Works Road. The event is free and open to all youth 15 and younger. Bluegill tourney May 20

The Clark County Fish and Game Club will hold an open bluegill tournament from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 20. The event, which is open to anyone 16 years of age and older, will be at the Carroll Ecton Reservoir, 1255 Water Works Road. For more information, call Lee Kerr at 771-5639.

 Bluegrass Heritage Museum trolley tours scheduled

The Bluegrass Heritage Museum Trolley Tours for 2017 will begin Tuesday, May 9. The followings tours have been scheduled thus far:

— May 9: Visit the Lower Howard’s Creek Waste Treatment Center to learn how the operation works.

— May 16: Visit the Hubbard Taylor Cemetery and Spring Hill.

— May 23: Visit the late 1790s historic home of Joan Mayer and enjoy a tour and a box supper.

Reservations are required by calling the Bluegrass Heritage Museum at 745-1358 between noon and 4 p.m. The May 9 and May 16 tours are $10, and the May 23 tour is $20, which included a boxed dinner. The bus will leave the museum at 5:30 p.m. Please arrive early to pay for your tour and board the bus.
