A Clark County grand jury indicted a Lexington man Thursday for allegedly attempting to set up a sexual encounter with a juvenile over the Internet.

Terry Duncan, 63, was charged with use of a minor in a sexual performance and prohibited use of electronic communications system to procure a minor/peace officer to engage in sexual offense following his arrest in March.

According to Winchester Police, Duncan has known the female juvenile, who is 17, for about five years. After detectives received a complaint, they took over communications with Duncan while posing as the juvenile. Duncan established a meeting with the girl at a truck stop along Interstate 64 in Clark County. When he arrived at the agreed time, he was arrested by Winchester Police.

Duncan admitted during an interview he had previously requested a nude photo of the girl and to setting up the meet.

The grand jury also dismissed an arson charge against Billy Jack Bowles, who was charged with setting fire to a house on Athens Boonesboro Road.

Clark County deputy sheriffs spotted the fire while attempting to serve a warrant on Bowles. When they knocked on the door, Bowles answered but said everything was OK. Firefighters found a locked storage room or closet on the front porch. Inside was a fire in a fire pit. There was no access to the house.

Fire investigators said the house received some smoke damage and the fire was extinguished quickly.

The grand jury returned the following indictments:

— Eric Anthony Gladson, second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, second-degree persistent felony offender.

— Donald T. Miller, first-degree possession of a controlled substance (two counts), first-degree promoting contraband, first-degree persistent felony offender.

— Zachary Noble, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, leaving the scene of an accident, driving on a suspended operator’s license, possession of marijuana (misdemeanor indictment)

— Harry D. Clem Jr., third-degree burglary (two counts)

— Shawn T. Faulk, second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument (10 counts), first-degree persistent felony offender.

— Brian A. Henry, attempted fraudulent use of a credit card, second-degree burglary, convicted felon in possession of a handgun, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, theft by unlawful taking (firearm), second-degree persistent felony offender.

— Nathan A. Dennis, second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument (two counts), theft by deception (two counts).

— Melissa Baber, third-degree assault, terroristic threatening.

— Jimmy Woosley, fourth-degre assault (misdemeanor).

— Larry T. Adkins, flagrant non-support.

— Bryan Thomas Crawford, flagrant non-support.

— Cedric L. Clark, flagrant non-support, first-degree persistent felony offender.

— Charles B. Chandler, theft by failure to make required disposition of property.

— Dean A. Bowman, third-degree assault, resisting arrest, second-degree fleeing or evading police, alcohol intoxication.

— Verlin Ray Smith III, first-degree assault, first-degree criminal abuse.

— Ova L. Smith, theft by unlawful taking.

— Gina Jones, first-degree bail jumping.
